Sacraments are about next steps in the journey of faith; and they are ways that God gives us grace for that next step in our journey. Read on to learn about each sacrament. Contact us if you are ready to make your next step in the journey of faith.
Baptism
Entrance into new life in Christ. Through baptism, we become part of God's family, and we are given God's own Spirit to live within us forever. Through baptism sin is forgiven, grace is given, and we receive the power to live as children of God. Baptism is for any age. If you or your child desire to be baptized, let us know by filling out the form below.
Eucharist (Holy Communion)
Those who are baptized receive the Body and Blood of Christ each week in the Bread and Wine. Please reach out to us if it is your first time receiving Communion; we'd love to prepare you for that!
Confirmation
When a person who is at least a teenager is ready, he or she makes a mature profession of faith before the Bishop and the community. When this is done, the Bishop lays hands on the head of each confirmand (person being confirmed) and prays for them to receive the Holy Spirit.
Reconciliation (Confession)
We confess our sins and receive God's forgiveness through the words of the priest.
Marriage
Two people enter into a life-long union and receive the grace and blessing of God to help them fulfill their vows. Requires at least 6 sessions of premarital preparation with a priest. Contact us to start preparing for your wedding today!
Anointing with Oil (for the sick)
The book of James (5:13-16) tells the Church that if anyone is sick, the elders (priests) of the church should be called so that they can anoint the sick with oil and pray over them. Please let us know if you or someone you know is in need of a priest to visit and pray for them.
Ordination
The Church is led by bishops, priests, and deacons. They can be single or married, young or old, gay or straight, men or women. They are regular, flawed human people like all of us, but God has given them grace and authority to lead God's people in prayer and service. Are you considering becoming a priest or deacon? Reach out to us; we'd love to talk with you and help you discern that.
